Scottie Scheffler. Rory McIlroy. Tommy Fleetwood. Collin Morikawa. Pebble Beach. What more can you ask for?

We spent the week with Team TaylorMade at a sunny Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill as they prepared for a challenging weekend ahead at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Let’s dive into the biggest storylines of the week.

Rory Switches to TP5 Golf Ball

In the third round, Rory was second amongst the field in Strokes Gained: Around the Green at 2.268 and was 8-for-8 scrambling with his TP5 golf ball. Earlier in the week, Rory shared how and why he made the switch.

"I sort of stumbled upon it," Rory said of TP5. "I just started to hit some chip shots with the TP5 instead of the TP5x and I really loved how it felt. I hadn't really tested the 2024 TP5 and I loved how it was reacting around the greens. Then I started hitting some 60, 70-yard shots with it and it was coming off much lower launch but spinnier."

Rory added that the launch difference is about a degree lower in TP5 compared to TP5x.

The two-time PGA TOUR winner in 2024 also added a MG4 60° LB wedge to the bag to go with his 46°, 50° and 54° MG4 wedges.

COLLIN AND TOMMY PLAY A 9-HOLE MATCH AT PEBBLE BEACH

During Tuesday's practice round on the front nine of Pebble Beach, Collin and Tommy put their YouTube golf hats on and played an epic 9-hole match. Check it out below to see who came out on top.

Collin’s Driving Success with Qi35 LS

Coming off of finishing second in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee and driving accuracy at The Sentry, Collin Morikawa continues to game his Qi35 LS 9.0° driver. Similar to his gamer in 2024, Collin prefers the shaping of the LS head and how it sits square at address.

Our TaylorMade Tour Reps visited Collin multiple times in Las Vegas in the fall to perfect his driver fitting. Collectively, Collin and our team used the TAS weights to their advantage to try different combinations of weight before landing on a setup that delivered the left-to-right ball flight Collin has to see with driver.

“We kept thinking about the head characteristics through early December and sent Collin a few more heads that he kept testing and let him work through the process of identifying the best option on his own. He landed on a head at 9.5 degrees in the standard setting with two 8-gram weights in the front and 7-gram weight in the back has played that ever since.”

Tommy’s Unique Bag Set Up

Tommy Fleetwood has become notorious for his unique bag set ups, especially at the top of the bag. Last season, Tommy’s most consistent top of the bag was driver, mini driver, 5-wood, 9-wood, 4-iron. This week, to get ready for any conditions on either Pebble or Spyglass, Tommy has a P·UDI 3-iron ready to be deployed for low piercing shots through the wind.

Tommy added more loft to his Qi35 driver going from a 9.0° head to a 10.5° head to see the consistent flight and shape he is looking for.

Perhaps no club in Tommy’s bag is more unique than his Truss Soto putter with his signature lasered onto the sole.

  • Length: 35.5’’
  • Sight Line: True Path with Full Line
