Some cities you have to study to understand. Los Angeles you simply have to feel.

It's a city defined less by what's there than by the atmosphere it generates — the warmth of the light, the height of the palms, the particular hum of a place that has spent the better part of a century inventing the very idea of glamour and then exporting it the rest of the world. Hollywood is a state of mind as much as it is a neighborhood, and nowhere is that more evident than during the golden years of the 1940s and 50s — an era when the city seemed to glow from within, when the studios were at full tilt, and when the lifestyle of the Los Angeles elite became aspirational viewing for the rest of the country.

This year, the Women's Summer Commemorative comes to Riviera Country Club — a stretch of land tucked into the canyons of Pacific Palisades that has been hosting championship golf since 1929 and entertaining Hollywood since the very same year. And TaylorMade has built a collection worthy of the occasion.

Welcome to the Palms and Pastels Collection.

Palms and Pastels Collection Bag Top and Headcovers

The Staff Bag: A Love Letter in Blush Pink

Commemorative staff bags live or die on the details. The visual reference can be strong, the construction can be sound, the colorways can be on-brand — but if the details don't add up to something greater than themselves, you've made a souvenir, not a statement.

The Palms and Pastels staff bag is the latter.

Palms and Pastels Collection Staff Bag Side Panel

It opens with a single, deliberate choice — a blush pink synthetic leather foundation that immediately tells you what kind of bag you're looking at. This is not a bag designed to fade into the background. It's designed to be the most photographed item walking up the 18th fairway, and it earns that role within seconds. From there, the design team layered in the Martinique® banana-leaf pattern — a textile created by CW Stockwell in 1942 and synonymous with old Hollywood interiors ever since. The pattern was never going to be a wallflower, and on a golf bag it lands with a kind of confident familiarity that's hard to manufacture.

Palms and Pastels Collection Staff Bag Striping

The forest green stripes running the length of the bag offer the perfect counterweight. Bold, structured, and reminiscent of Beverly Hills, they pull the entire color story into balance — pink without saccharine, green without the formality, and a result that feels like it could only have been built in this scene, for this occasion. Brass hardware throughout adds a warmth that synthetic materials rarely deliver on their own, and deep green stitching pulls the entire palette together with a precision the bag's playful personality might otherwise distract from.

Then the details start to reveal themselves.

A vintage ticket stub appliqué anchors one valuables pocket — a quiet, knowing nod to an era when Los Angeles felt like the center of the entertainment universe. Just below, a martini glass detail catches the eye, and beside it, a pair of sunglasses lifted straight from the silver screen icons of the era. The strap carries the banana leaf print from end to end — small detail, big impact. And the interior, perhaps the bag's best-kept secret, reveals a pool-inspired lining that feels like a private cabana every time you reach inside a pocket.

It is, in the end, a staff bag that doesn't just celebrate the Women's Summer Commemorative. It pays homage to the entire city hosting it.

The Headcovers: The Story Carries On

A collection this confident in its identity wasn't going to leave the headcovers as an afterthought.

The Palms and Pastels lineup carries the bag's design language across the woods and putter, with each pulling from the same blush pink and forest green palette that defines the staff bag. The Martinique® banana-leaf pattern appears on the exteriors of the driver and fairway wood headcovers, and the interiors of the blade and mallet putter headcovers — a thoughtful detail that rewards a closer look. Each headcover is distinct enough to hold its own, but cohesive enough to keep the collection's visual story intact.

It's the kind of detail discipline that separates a true collection from a set of matching accessories.

The Final Frame

The Women's Summer Commemorative arrives in Los Angeles at a moment when women's golf has never had a brighter spotlight on it — and at a venue that has hosted some of the most cinematic championship golf in the game's history. TaylorMade has always believed that a great collection doesn't just decorate the moment. It deepens it.

The Palms and Pastels Collection was built with that ambition. To honor a city that has been writing the script on glamour for the better part of a century. To honor a club whose storied history dates back to before Hollywood was Hollywood. And to honor the women who will, this summer, write the next chapter on its fairways.

Old Hollywood, sunkissed and ready for the spotlight. Roll camera.
